COMMUNITIES

St Nic’s Communities exist to help us love God, love one another and love the world.

They usually meet weekly to eat together, pray together, read the Bible together, serve Jesus together and welcome new people. Whether you’re new to church or have been with us a while, we hope you can find one that helps you feel at home at St Nic’s.

Our communities meet all over Nottingham so we hope you can find one local to you!

beeston

Led by Sarah Wakefield and Esther Redpath. Comms/Admin: Emily Jones

Meets: Fortnightly on a Wednesday for Bible study, termly for Wednesday night pub quiz, and termly for a weekend family activity.

We are Beeston Community, meeting regularly in our homes for bible study, termly for gatherings involving our children, and not forgetting the occasional pub quiz! We look for ways to bless Beeston in our day to day lives and encourage each other through prayer and practical support. If you are local to Beeston, we would love for you to join us and get involved!

Bramcote - Oikos

Led by John and Analia Buckley

Meets: 3 Tuesdays and 1 Saturday a month

Oikos is the Greek word for family or household. That is what we try to create in our community. We are an inter-generational group representing the three congregations of St Nic’s with members ranging from 10 to 70 in age. We meet weekly to eat, share stories, worship, learn from God’s word and pray.

Bramcote - Oikos at the chancery

Led by Gill Calder and Daniel Tsoi

Meets: Fortnightly on a Tuesday

Time: 7pm

We aim to be family (“Oikos”), with a wide range of ages and across the different services. We always eat a meal together at 7pm with a chance to chat and catch up.

We have a main “slot”, led by different members, which may be bible study, telling your story or how faith has impacted your life, or other, e.g. worship. We also share prayer requests and answers and often pray in smaller groups.

north nottingham

Led by Emily and Jonno Huggard, Mick Rainbow and Erica Blott

Meets: Weekly on a Wednesday

We are a community of people of all generations and life stages who live in the North of Nottingham. Having recently formed, we are passionate about growing together in our relationship with God, learning to follow Him closer in our everyday lives. We want to spur each other on in faith and support one another through the highs and lows of life. We have a heart to see our scattered locations across the North of Nottingham transformed by the love of Jesus, and aim to cheer each other on in this, both practically and prayerfully. If you live in the North of the city, then we would love you to consider joining us!

sherwood

Led by Becky Hunt and Sarah McCracken

Meets: Weekly on a Wednesday

We meet in homes and public spaces in the Sherwood/Mapperley Park area. We aim to be a family for each other and for those who don't yet belong. Like any family we are all ages (children welcome!). We have regular Sunday lunches, and really enjoy eating together and having fun. We learn about life in the Spirit from scripture and from each other, and our vision is to grow by inviting others to share in that life with us.

sherwood - open book

Led by Peter & Maggie Bates.

Meets: Alternate Thursdays

Open Book teaches people how to study the Bible in a way that transforms their lives. We enjoy being a real mix of backgrounds and circumstances. We invite guests from other groups in the church and interview them to find out how God has worked in their lives. We pray for one another and the wider world.

city centre and wollaton - accord choir

Led by Sarah Churchill and Sara Telling

Meets: Fortnightly on a Friday

Accord is a community united by our love of singing. We form an unauditioned community choir with an eclectic repertoire. We perform in churches, open garden events, care homes and more. But that's not all Accord is about. We value friendship, fellowship and community! Our fortnightly rehearsals are laden with singing, cake, wisdom and good humour. Our Encore home group and prayer breakfast is a place of belonging where we explore faith together and pray for the choir and more. Regardless of ability or experience, you are welcome at Accord.

city centre - internationals

Led by Chris & Julie Bignell and Jerome Davasahyan & Adline Arul

Meets: Weekly on a Thursday

We are a community seeking to offer love and fellowship to those from overseas and the UK. Our group spans the age range and we enjoy welcoming others who may not yet know the Lord to our socials. Our weekly meetings include fellowship, praise, prayer and Bible study. We would love to welcome you!

southbank

We are a new community for those of all ages and backgrounds who live south of the river. We meet weekly to eat, share stories, learn from God’s word and pray. We also hold socials welcoming family and friends to join us for activities.

wollaton

Led by Nic Wright, Jonny Wright and Margaret Addis

Meets: Weekly on a Wednesday and and one Sunday a month for lunch together.

We meet together to share what God is doing in our lives, encourage one another in faith and share the love of God with those around us. We aim to be a welcoming and safe place where we can be family together.
